One of the important forms of methodological work is conducting open lessons. For the past three years, teachers with a high level of methodological training, as well as young teachers who demonstrate their pedagogical achievements, have been conducting open lessons on Saturdays in the library of the Aesthetic Gymnasium, in a creative atmosphere, at the AC GAD. During an open lesson, the teacher demonstrates to colleagues their methodological, pedagogical or innovative experiences, the implementation of methodological ideas, and the application of methodological techniques or teaching methods. Any type of educational activity in any form of teaching can be used for an open lesson. It is recommended that open lessons be limited to a time frame of 40 minutes. During this time, teachers have the opportunity to demonstrate not only the structural elements of the lesson, but also their pedagogical discoveries.
Open lessons are novel, creative, and illustrated with colourful presentations that reflect the methodological problem the teacher is working on. All developments and presentations of teachers' open lessons are stored in electronic and printed form.
Over the past three years, there have been 74 open lessons.
Performances by students of the Music Department in concerts are the most sought-after form of work in the supplementary education system. Participation in public performances develops the qualities necessary for a young musician or dancer, namely: it contributes to the development of creative potential, strengthens the emotional and volitional sphere, and helps to reveal artistic talent and musicality. It is during a performance that unexpected new facets of a student's talent can be revealed. If a performance at a concert or competition is successful, the child experiences a powerful emotional feeling of satisfaction and a desire to repeat the success. This is the motivation to reach new heights in creativity.
Participation in competitions is one of the priority forms of working with gifted children. It is also an effective motivation for developing abilities, requiring not only independent creativity, but also a lot of additional work on the part of the teacher. A competition is a very responsible and exciting performance, which requires serious preparation and is the result of a certain stage of joint work between the student and the teacher. By creating a situation of success and a comfortable emotional environment for the student and instilling a love of creativity, the teacher retains the contingent in their class and in the school as a whole.
Competitions are held with the aim of:
-
Identify talented students. This helps to encourage the most gifted and capable children, who will subsequently continue their musical education and choose music as their profession.
-
Develop creative abilities and performance skills. Participation in competitions sets specific goals for children: to demonstrate their achievements in a competitive format with other children.
-
Motivation to learn. Winning competitions or successful performances become significant milestones that motivate further improvement.
-
Formation of public speaking skills. Regular performances allow students to develop stage endurance and self-control.
-
Opening up a new circle of friends. Students meet other musicians, teachers, judges and critics, which promotes the exchange of experience and broadens their musical horizons.
Each academic year, students of the AC GAD take part in international, republican, regional and city-level competitions, travelling to other cities in the country (Tashkent) and the Republic of Kazakhstan (Aktobe, Atyrau), where they receive diplomas: Grand Prix, 1st degree, 2nd degree.
